Acceptance of Terms

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.

Services

Student Movers provides professional moving services including but not limited to:

• Local moving
• In-state moving
• Interstate moving
• Moving-related packing services
• Oversized-item moving
• Senior moving
• Commercial moving services
• Moving and packing supplies
• Disposal services
• Same-day service
• Labor-only moving services

All services are subject to availability and provided in accordance with these Terms.

Estimates and Quotes

Non-Binding Estimates: Estimates provided by Student Movers are approximate and based on the information you provide. Final charges may vary based on actual services rendered, items moved, time required, and any additional services requested.

Binding Quotes: Written binding quotes, when provided, are valid for the specific services and dates outlined. Changes to the scope of work may result in adjusted pricing.

Quote Validity: Quotes are typically valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.

Booking and Payment

Deposit: A deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Deposit amounts and payment methods will be specified at the time of booking.

Payment Terms: Full payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept cash, credit cards, and other approved payment methods.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled move date to receive a full refund of any deposit. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may forfeit the deposit or incur cancellation fees.

Rescheduling: Rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible. Rescheduling fees may apply for changes made within 48 hours of the scheduled move.

Customer Responsibilities

By using our services, you agree to:

Accurate Information: Provide accurate and complete information about your move, including inventory, locations, access restrictions, and special requirements.

Preparation: Have items ready for moving at the scheduled time. Delays caused by lack of preparation may result in additional charges.

Access: Ensure appropriate access at both pickup and delivery locations, including parking, building access, and elevator reservations when necessary.

Prohibited Items: Not include hazardous materials, perishables, illegal items, or other items prohibited from transport. Student Movers is not responsible for damage to or loss of prohibited items.

Valuable Items: Keep valuable items such as jewelry, important documents, cash, and medications with you rather than in moved boxes.

Accurate Inventory: Disclose all items requiring moving, especially oversized or specialty items requiring special handling or equipment.

Liability and Insurance

Basic Coverage: Student Movers carries insurance as required by law. Basic liability coverage is included in our services.

Additional Insurance: Additional insurance coverage options are available for purchase. We recommend discussing insurance needs during booking.

Limitations: Student Movers is not liable for damage to items improperly packed by the customer, damage to prohibited items, damage resulting from acts of God, or pre-existing damage to items.

Claims: All claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the move date. Claims should include photographs and documentation of damage.

Maximum Liability: Our maximum liability is limited to the coverage outlined in your service agreement and applicable law.

Service Limitations

Weather and Conditions: Student Movers reserves the right to reschedule moves due to severe weather, road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Access Issues: We are not responsible for delays or inability to complete services due to access issues, parking restrictions, or building requirements not disclosed in advance.

Same-Day Service: Same-day moving services are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Long-Distance Timing: Interstate and long-distance delivery windows are estimates and may vary based on distance, weather, and other factors.

Property Damage

Student Movers takes precautions to protect your property during moves. However:

• We are not responsible for damage to floors, walls, or doorways in properties with pre-existing damage or structural issues
• We are not responsible for damage caused by items that require disassembly but were not disclosed
• Customers are responsible for removing items from walls and preparing furniture for moving
• Protection materials such as floor runners are used when appropriate

Delays and Extra Services

Hourly Services: For services billed hourly, time begins when our crew arrives at the pickup location and ends when unloading is complete at the delivery location.

Additional Time: If the move takes longer than estimated due to factors such as additional items, difficult access, or lack of preparation, additional charges will apply.

Extra Services: Services not included in the original quote, such as additional packing, extra stops, or long carries, will incur additional charges.

Disputes and Governing Law

Dispute Resolution: We encourage customers to contact us directly to resolve any issues or concerns. Most problems can be resolved through open communication.

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable federal regulations.

Jurisdiction: Any legal actions related to these Terms or our services shall be brought in the appropriate courts in Harris County, Texas.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Student Movers, Inc., its employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your use of our services.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Student Movers’ total liability for any claims arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the services in question.

Force Majeure

Student Movers is not liable for failure or delay in performing services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, strikes, government actions, or public health emergencies.

Modifications to Terms

Student Movers reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any written service agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Student Movers regarding our services.

By using Student Movers’ services, you acknowledge that you have read these Terms and Conditions, understand them, and agree to be bound by them.
